There was only one way to solve the mystery. I had thought and eliminated every other way. But this was the fastest way to get to the bottom of who had perpetrated the crime.
And that way was to hold your standard corporate boardroom meeting.
Being the boss, organizing this was easy. I told everyone to turn up in Meeting Room 5 at 4:30 PM sharp. To emphasize its seriousness, I added I had another meeting at 6 so we had to take a hard stop at 5:30 PM.
Everyone turned up in MR 5, not knowing the real agenda: I needed to find the criminal who had not only sat in my memory foam chair – it had become all wonky because of that idiot – but the criminal had eaten the last of the pudding that my wife had made for me…for ME.
Once they were settled, I connected my laptop to the main television, brought up the PPT I had prepared for this very occasion and started to list down the evidence I had painstakingly collected over the course of 3 days.
While the PPT was ongoing, I kept a hawk eye on the people gathered around the table. There was only one man who didn’t have the same incredulous: my boss has taken a leave of his senses – I cannot believe I was dragged into a meeting for this – did I really miss my tea session for this nonsense – look. And that was…
“Mr. Gupta,” I said triumphantly. “Would you care to explain yourself?”
