Be still

Be still my bleeding heart
Be still my weeping soul
For not all tears are evil
though evil they may seem
For they only measure the journey
that was, that is and that will be.

Be still my aching arms
For you are not alone
Be still my heaving chest
For sorrow you must let go
It is in letting go that you receive and
in receiving when you’re finally free.

Be still my grieving heart
For you shall be happy soon
Be still my torn soul
For now that you behold the beauty
And have been purged
May you begin anew.

Be still, my beloved, be still
It may seem like the end
But it is the darkest before a beautiful dawn
And you have time yet to heal and play
To partake in the fruits of your labour
and carve a story of going beyond your shackles.
