How watermelon got its seeds

A fruit so divine
Sweet, fresh and bursting
With a rotund figure to protect
The juicy inner
Could one truly enjoy the sweet
Without the taste of bitter?

And so mother earth decided
And gave the watermelon
Countless seeds – black in a bed of bright red
As a reminder that

After every dusk comes dawn
Just as dusk must follow every dawn
For such is the circle of life
A little sweet, a little bitter
A little salty, a little bland
A little heaven, a piece of earth, and dollops of hell
Thus becomes the perfect recipe
To be served with a side dish of watermelon
And its countless seeds.

  5. Life truly resembles a watermelon. There is so much bad around but one good thing fades away all the dark.
