Lonely no more

I was lonely before you came
Happy in my world,
Talking to dolls, bears and
Imaginary friends.

I was lonely before you came
Losing myself in my surroundings,
Walking among the trees
Trying to find my peace.

I was lonely before you came
Like a part of me was missing
As if the heart was waiting
To beat for you once you came.

I was lonely before you came
And then news of you arrived
Burning my life with sudden vigour
Anticipation brimming with excitement.

I was lonely before you came
And then I finally saw you.
A piece that had been missing slit back into place
I was lonely no more.

Now we are two peas in a pod
Me happy to hold your hand
You satisfied to have me beside you
The circle, thus, complete.

And if ever I feel lonely again
I will remember your hugs,
Your trust, your blinding faith…
…I will remember how you loved me.

I went through a gamut of emotions while reading the poem. There is no feeling of sadness or loneliness at the end as the narratorial voice promises hope in hugs, trust and blinding faith..

  3. I must say your poetry has so many mixed emotions. Seems like happy in one line and like sad in the exactly next line. I must agree you are extremely gifted. Amazingly penned poetry Suchita 🙂

Feeling of being complete, felt once is enough to last for the life-time. Distance adds to its fondness.
Blessed are those who get to experience the magic of love which can not be expressed but only felt.

  7. It’s the absence of love that makes us yearn so much for it. To love!
