Aao sunao mein tumhe
Alu ki ek prem kahani
Waha tha alu
Aur yaha thi mein
Hum mile jab hum dono the
Ekdum chote se
Nahin jante the ki sabjiya kya hoti hai
Nahin jante the ki ye exotic veggies kis hoor ka naam hai
Broccoli, zucchini, bell peppers
Kuch nahin pata tha.
Sirf ek hi sabji se prem tha
Woh tha…alu.
Alu aya meri zindagi mein
Ek hawa ke jhonke ki tarah
Humesha maujood
Woh kehte hai na – versatile
Kahi bhi daalo, kisi bhi masale mein chounk do
Alu sabke saath chalta hai
Har kisi ko apna dost bana leta hai
Kabhi kabhi replace bhi kar deta hai
Kintu swaad jo chor jata hai jeebh par
Ah ha ha…mano jannat hi prapt ho gayi ho.
Mere ghar mein sabki ek favourite
Alu ki preparation hai.
Mummy ko pasand hai bhuna alu, ghee aur amchoor mein
Papa ko toh alu tamatar harr din khila do, khushi se kha lenge
Par behen ko naye type ki alu ki dish chahiye
Lehsun, makkhan, chilli flakes aur oregano ke saath
Dekh rahe hai aap – chahe desi ya videsi
Alu hai king. Angrez jisse kehte hai
Comfort food – maane jaadu ki jhappi.
Toh yaad rakhe sab
Ghar ki yaad sataye, bhook sataye
Ya boriyat mein nahin samajh aye ki khana kya banega
Nikal lijiyega alu aur bas chand minto mein
Aur kuch masalo baad
Tayyar ho jayegi ek zayakedaar dish.
Bataye, kaisi lagi ye tip-top, anokhi kahani sajjano?
