If I had to choose… #BlogchatterBlogHop

If I had to choose between
reading or writing
I would choose you reading
For all the joy and solace I find with you
of discovering my next read
Like a kid in a candy store.

If I had to choose between
reading or writing
I would choose you writing
For the sense you help me make
of the muddy water in my head
Taking me to a place of deepest solitude.

If I had to choose between
reading or writing
I would choose you reading
Because there is no writing without the reading
No stories to share, no imagination to ignite
No quiet to be found where my demons and I can co-exist.

If I had to choose between
reading or writing
I would choose you writing
Because how else do I live a
thousand lives, travel to a thousand places
Quieten the voices so only words can prevail.

If I had to choose between
reading or writing
Why there is no choice at all!
I was a reader first, a writer second
So reading it will be because
Reading is a form of writing too – only
the words don’t appear on paper
But in your mind, as you flip page after page
book after book, finding, losing, and finding
again.

In the beginning, reading comes and then writing. Reading is the beginning of the thought process and writing its manifestation. You made it into a beautiful poem, loved reading it. πŸ™‚

There is this thing that is common between both readers and writers…both are dreamers first.
      Great poem! πŸ™‚
