On this day, a year ago, I decided I would start my blog. Enough people had told me to start one considering I had author dreams and enough people had looked at me with disdain when I had said, “No I am not a blogger; just a writer.”
The time had come to have a space with my name on it and stop hiding my writing in countless word documents.
When I started this blog, I had no plans or strategies – I didn’t even think about the fact that a blog would require me to churn out content on a regular basis. I just had a bug and I simply had to do this. The one year journey has been surreal. I can’t believe I actually got here!
And since I have been doing a lot of lists lately, I’m going to have not 1 but 3 here! Starting with:
What I love about blogging:
- The comments and compliments
- Discovering some amazingly talented writers and bloggers and parents in the blogverse [PS: I am not a parent. I just like following a few – they are hilarious!]
- Being constantly surprised by myself and my capacity to think, create and write
What I hate about blogging:
- My obsession with the Alexa rank and why. it. is. not. going. down.
- Filtering down the writing experience to views, comments and likes
- No views on a well-thought out post and off-the-roof views on a silly one
- Knowing what content will get views and writing that to get those views with the vain hope that the good content will also get to bask in the glory
Some of the posts I am really proud of:
Here’s to many more anniversaries, writing, rants and stories.
Cheers everyone!
March is my one year blogiversary month! And I am going to celebrate by penning down what I have learnt in this one year. Stick around for more.
