Zenith

I have loved
And I have lost
The cycle continues
No end, no respite
But I must walk the path
For the only way forward
Is through.

Now I am tired
Of this constant fight
Wanting, rejecting
Well-meaning advice
Derision of my hope
Erosion of my faith
I want to stop and rest.

The rest has been easyโ€ฆsafe
And going forward seems
As tedious as going back
What must I do
Now that I am at an impasse
Wait for things to happen
Or carpe diem?

They say after rock bottom
The only way you can go
Is up
But what is up?
How long does up take
Do I let go or hold on
When do I reach my zenith?

Oscillating between
Activity and inactivity
Is taking a toll
And the rolling eyes
Judging words
Mean I no longer know
What I want.

Must love always be
Difficult to procure?
A jealous master
Clutching you in its embrace
Providing comfort
Glory and pain
Building and destroying.

Patience is the antidote
I am prescribed.
Even as I exchange my
Black tinted glasses
With normal lenses
Love is not a race, I am told
So stay, instead of running.

Stay, and let go of the fear
And hold onto the romance
For that is your zenith
Which will creep upon you
As you lay asleep
Dreaming in your bed
Wishing, hoping.

Love is never difficult to procure because we are vessels of love:)
I thought I’d look for your poetry Suchita. I’m glad I did– even though I’m a year late:)

Interesting dilemma expressed. Was it resolved by saying hold on to it despite its ups and downs. Every body has to love himself and others. So I think each of us is denied the love of other for some time when one is focusing on himself or herself more. Then there is competition from others.

Congratulations for successful A to Z Blogging.

This time I hope, Industrial engineering will be more familiar to A to Z bloggers.
What is Industrial Engineering? What is its Practice in Top Global Manufacturing Companies?

What industrial engineers do? They continuously strive to reduce the cost of items that people love to use and thus increase its affordability to more and more people.

    1. I had been worried that 26 poems on a single theme may end up with me rehashing the same thing. Good to know my experiment was a success. Thank you so much Shweta for all your words of encouragement ๐Ÿ™‚

      1. Ohh no, there was absolutely no danger of that. There were recurring theme but there was no element of boredom, I can assure you. Poems have never really been my style. I’m more of the story type. ๐Ÿ˜‚ I wish I could write like you! Maybe it’s because I’ve been reading a lot of poems, but I think it’s rubbed off on me too. So yes, your experiment was a huge success. You can make it into an e-book! I’m sure it’ll be an inspiration for many. โ™ฅ๏ธ

Reminded of the song, “Love comes to those who believe it, And that’s the way it is”, by Celine Dion. How true isn’t it?
